Growth and Development
The College had a modest beginning in the next year of its foundation with the introduction of General Degree Course in Arts. The burgeoning need for higher education of the local people prompted the Governing Body to approach the University for affiliation of Commerce Stream Courses and it was availed of in two years. Commendable results in the Commerce Stream led to the University affiliation of Honours Courses by and by in various subjects of Arts and Commerce (e.g. Accountancy, Bengali, History, English, Geography, Philosophy, Sanskrit,Political Science, Economics, Mass Communication & Journalism and Education). Over time the College has grown both in stature and structure, catering to the needs, not only of students of Chandrapur and its vicinity, but also of students of surrounding block and subdivisional towns. The Governing Body, the Teachers, the Non-Teaching Staff and the Students work here in tandem to build up an ideal environment in the field of study.
